    Ken,

Yes I did the 1/2″ round over and it turned out well.  We used a fence and a router to do all the straight and externally curved edges.  For the internal curves that couldn’t use the fence we just freehanded it with the bearing on the 1/2″ bit.   Small mistakes could be fixed gently with sandpaper, and we were fortunate enough to avoid big mistakes.

Good question.  I put mine in a few weeks ago and used contact cement, but if you are worried about future changes/improvements, then I think you could definitely use a less permanent adhesive.

My gut says that a quality double sided tape could be a good solution.  I found that once you start getting pieces in place, they kind of hold each other in.  Worst case scenario is you try that way and someday a few panels fall down.  Not a bad problem to have.

Another benefit is that if certain panels of the foam get damaged (I noticed that the CLC model has some big gouges) then you could replace single panels.

Wow that’s surprising to me.  Was all your load concentrated in one area?  It looks like the floor wanted to flex, but the stiffener wasn’t able to, so they just separated.  I think the galley flat would be very strong with distributed loads.

I’m looking forward to seeing the photos! Seems like an interesting idea.

I installed my headliner today.  Looks good except for one little gap that I might try to fill in with an extra sliver of foam.

I used DaveR’s method with the newspaper and it was very effective.  I rolled 2 coats of contact cement on the foam and 1 coat on the inside of the teardrop.

This is something on my list to figure out before a trip in two weeks.  I’m looking into things like this window shade, but it is just a matter of finding the right dimensions and one that blocks enough light.  Last time I was in the teardrop I just duct-taped up an extra t-shirt to block the windows.

I’m curious how many Hutte Hut’s have been sold… $64K seems astronomical, but I guess if you find the right buyer then it works.   I personally think the CLC geometry is much more pleasing, but I could see how people would like the Hutte Hut too.

After having built it, it seems like it is worth that much to me, but the question is what potential buyers would pay.  I think $15K is too high, but maybe I’m wrong.

Looks good! Where did you get your puck lights?  Did they fit into the little cutout on the door frame?

    Looks great!

I did a DIY clearcoat, but only because my father has the spray gun and some experience (I think he said he paints a car about once every five years…).  Our coat wasn’t auto-shop perfect, but it saved a bunch of time and cost about $200.

I’m finding that over time my hatch springs are losing some of their force and not opening the hatch high enough.  Anyone else having these problems?
