That unit is quite large for what you would need for a camper this size – about 4-5x, maybe even more. It’s going to short cycle, which isn’t good for the compressor.

I haven’t found an A/C unit suitable for something as small as a teardrop; I wouldn’t want to spend $1k or more and install a unit only to find that it’s not sized properly. On the high end, you want something with about 2800 BTU based on 80 BTU/sf, and because a teardrop isn’t very tall inside, I expect you would want something closer to 2000 BTU.

Does the 3M pad do better than 120 grit at removing material to level the epoxy? Or is it simply for obtaining a consistent surface after cleanup of the rough areas?

Interesting point about the temperature – I did the layup in mid June, and I’m in Indiana, so that probably explains all the bubbles appearing out of nowhere that I couldn’t previously understand. It looked great when I was wetting out the glass, and I was pretty surprised when I came back the next day to a bunch of little bubbles.

Not much progress in the last few weeks, but from the feedback here and the response I received from CLC when I asked them, I’m planning to continue sanding until I’m through all the irregularities and then add more epoxy to ensure complete coverage.

Water based varnish…I think you’re a few steps ahead of me. I’m trying to be sure I get the epoxy thick enough. Varnish is still down the road for me, at the end of the build.

Yep, that helps! I finished dry-fitting last night and masked as needed this morning, and I’ll go ahead and epoxy it in place tonight.

    Thanks!

I’m a little further away, in Battle Ground (a few miles outside of Lafayette), and you could see my build in progress if you want. I have most of the storage box completed, about half of the galley, and the camper is in the mold with the galley flat ready to install tomorrow. Not a finished trailer, but feel free to contact me and swing by if you happen to get over this way.

Photo of one of my panels…looks like the epoxy is still there in spots but mostly gone.
