October 20, 2016 at 7:10 pm #247tomtntParticipantwhich trailer are you using as your base? did you buy the galley kit or building your own galley?
October 21, 2016 at 11:15 am #248frizParticipantMy original plan on the trailer was the northern tool 5X8 aluminum. This way I could place the pod between the fenders and have the trailer sit lower without having to compromise to small wheels. There would be limits on axle position though, because the fenders can’t share the same space as the doors. I’m holding out on buying the trailer to see what works for others. I plan to use CLC’s galley and headliner, I am waiting to defer cost on those items. I got my kit over the labor day sale so I already have the ventilation kit.

October 22, 2016 at 10:53 pm #251EricParticipantI have my own cnc machine so I plan to design my own galley unit; its basically furniture, which I’ve cnc cut a lot of. Also I plan to do my own cooler box, more triangular in shape than the CLC cut one. I have a Harbor Freight trailer but went ahead and got the Trailex with 12″ wheels. I did get the vent fan (labor day deal). headliner. and roof rack. By tomorrow, I should have panels 1 through 4 together.
Does anyone have suggestions for the mattress? Air mattress?
October 23, 2016 at 12:15 pm #252patflyParticipantI have used the Northern Tool Aluminum 5×8 trailer. The fender/ axle placement did prove problematic, but it is working out. The doors just barely clear the fender. I cut down the length of the trailer in both the front and back.

Thanks, Friz

October 24, 2016 at 5:51 pm #258frizParticipantI would like to know what others are doing for a mattress also. I plan to get one of those comfort foam mattresses that come in the insanely small package and open it inside the trailer full well knowing that I would have to cut it up to get it out.
October 24, 2016 at 6:18 pm #259tomtntParticipantthat looks great! congratulations… would love to see some more pics.. especially interior pictures… even CLC doesn’t have too many inside pictures of the camper..
October 24, 2016 at 8:00 pm #260patflyParticipantI am using a ridiculously expensive Thermarest Mundo King 3D xl for a mattress. My teardrop is for solo trips exclusively. (Way too much like camping for my wife).

Can you explain what the big black rectangular insert into the bulkhead is? I’d be interested in some close ups!
