We are about ready to spray a clear coat on the teardrop, and just wondered if anyone knew anything about the following: (we are going to use Limco LC4000 Clearcoat)

    – Can we spray the clearcoat over recently cured epoxy?  If not, how long does the epoxy need to cure before it can be clearcoated? 1 day? 3 days? 5 days?

    – What grit sandpaper should be used on the epoxy before clearcoating?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Never mind! We went ahead and coated it, and it turned out great.  I’ll post some photos soon.

Does the clear coat you are using provide UV protection?  I hope so!

I believe so!  I guess we’ll find out in a few years!

If I were you I’d check right away (unless you were joking).  Seriously, UV rays begin the destruction of epoxy in just a few hours, and it goes downhill fast.

Yes, I just used a clearcoat, but the clearcoat provides UV protection.  While a clearcoat is a little more complicated than varnishing by hand, it did save us some time.
