My father’s day gift arrived yesterday, a 270 degree awning.  Installation was relatively easy with a helper to help get it up on the roof racks. It can be found on Amazon: Nomadic OVS Awning 270 Passenger Side – Dark Gray Cover with Black Cover Universal                                    overhead awning view

It’s up high enough that it only impedes the galley hatch a little bit from going up all the way.  I added a small foam bumper to protect the hatch where it touches the support rail when the canopy is extended.

@canadianhoser This looks fantastic. I’ve been thinking of a 270 awning as well. I’d love to see some more pictures – especially how it interfaces with the galley hatch. It’s a pricey addition but totally worth it.

I’m looking at these pictures again. What hardware did you use on the galley hatch? Two latches and a handle latch in the middle?

I’d post yet again, but this forum is not taking my posts for some reason.  Watch, this one will get posted.
