Hi, I am looking into building this trailer but I am 6’8″ and a pretty big dude to boot. Does any one have experience with large people sleeping in and being comfortable in one of these? I love the tow-ability aspect of this little trailer and the compact nature of having all my camping gear stowed and organized, but as I stated above, I am not a compact dude. Any thoughts would be super appreciated!
I am 6′ 4″ 225# and it works okay for me. If you are comfortably contained within the dimensions of a queen-size mattress you’ll be okay. But all the same, it’s not at all a big camper. The way to look at it is that it’s a nice upgrade from a 2-3 person tent.
I am 6’4” and 250…. Just beginning the teardrop build now… After inspecting the interior dime signs, while getting into the teardrop, I got “comfortable” that I would be fine…actually will have a larger bed (queen) than what comes in a full size Airstream I just sold…(“short queen” also called “RV queen.”)
Thanks! That helps a lot. I sleep on a full sized queen bed regularly so I imagine that it will be fine. I’m definitely not looking for a large RV experience out of a little trailer. Just something to make car camping a bit more comfy. Cheers all!
You’ll enjoy it. Last evening inside the camper we fit me and my wife and our two young boys to watch a movie in the backyard. I won’t say “plenty of room” but we fit! Why did you get rid of the Airstream? People are dying for those these days…but I tell you, every place I take the CLC teardrop I get tons of compliments and interest.
