ParticipantI have considered cutting a portal through to my galley big enough to slide a duffel bag through. For now I plan to have my duffel with my clothes at the foot of the bed.

ParticipantThe springs are leaf springs comprised of 3 leaves. These springs are rated for loads approaching 2000 lbs. Needless to say our tiny campers barely budge these so removing a leaf makes them a little more compliant.

ParticipantIn retrospect, I should have planned for nylon washers at these wear points.

ParticipantIt would take a big pile pile of cash to get my CLCTD away from me. I plan to get many years of use out of it and that’s invaluable to me. The Hutte Hut looks interesting but lost me at “man bun”.

ParticipantThe fenders work fine with my mods to the trailer. Also it pulls great at 65, legal or not. I did remove a leaf from the springs. This, combined with 20 psi tire pressure, kept things from getting too bouncy.

ParticipantHere is my plan to keep the utility of the vents and seal for travel.

ParticipantI just trimmed the length of the side rails on the aft end to fit the camper corner to corner. Aside from the rear cross member, everything else is in the factory location. My tongue is still very light.

ParticipantI ordered 3 used 2. I only did the exterior surfaces and the interior bulk head/shelf. I did not do the galley, floor and footwell. I figured the epoxy would be a tougher surface in these areas and UV less of an issue. Mine will be stored inside.

ParticipantWell, mission accomplished, sort of. I finish installed my doors over the weekend. I did quite a bit of tweeking while building my doors in hope of eliminating the pull straps. I did accomplish this. How ever my front bottom corners do protrude a little. In retrospect, I think that mounting the door in a relaxed state and pulling the top a bottom together with a strap would pull that corner in tighter. Mine are close enough and compress the gasket well, so i don’t plan any further fiddling.

ParticipantYes Sir, I hate to measure.

ParticipantThis is my plan of action. I plan to use the vents as designed because I want to be able to get air when it is raining. I have to front indicator on the baffles facing up. I plan to cut foam disks about 1 in thick to place under the cap for transport. My hope is that it will seal the opening and press the baffle into the base to seal that as well. Wish me luck.

ParticipantI thought about doing that. My worry is the amount of wood screw engagement in the door for the fairlead. I will probably just build up the stiffener using scrap wood and do it as shown in the manual. Thanks for the idea.
friz
ParticipantNo. the one in the manual does not have the step down like mine does.

ParticipantI am fitting my door hardware and found my stiffeners are incorrect. Anyone else have this issue?
