ParticipantI used methyl hydrate used for prepping cars for paint, get it at a auto parts store.
Works well, cheap, no residue evaporates quickly. Just wear a mask, pretty potent fumes.

ParticipantInteresting method of mounting that porthole, every other one I’ve seen opens from the outside.

Participant<p style=”text-align: center;”>If It’s on one of those branch circuits it will be fine. If it’s between your source and your fuse panel where its capped at 37amp, you could run into trouble around 12amp as they’re usually rated at about 80% capacity.</p>

ParticipantI’m not sure about the clear coat issue but the exposed parts is a function of how much re-creating you’re doing. Try 3 coats before sanding

ParticipantYou can fill gaps with epoxy. Tape the backside of it with painters tape, fill gap with epoxy and cover with fiberglass tape. Works like a charm.

ParticipantHighly unlikely it was the speed, more likely lack of grease.

ParticipantIs this a permanent install now?
I’ve seen this issue brought up repeatedly. I’m going to add a couple layers of fiberglass cloth and epoxy on the inside before I cut the doors, hopefully that will help them hold their shape.

ParticipantYes it’s far more than I need but I usually camp in Ontario Provincial Parks.. their power pedestals at the sites are 15/30.
