Hi, Teardroppers!
Wondering if anyone has added an interior lock to the doors, so you can lock yourself in at night? Also, how do you lock the trailer so it doesn’t roll away (or get rolled away) when you leave it at a campground, for example? thanks.
To lock the doors from the inside, I use a simple butterfly screw, in the door sill, just above the latch. Not the fastest, but it works.
besides a lock on the trailer hitch, I always use two pairs of wheel wedges (whatever their official name is).
Thanks, Daniel. Yep, a picture would be helpful. I’m hoping to find a solution that’s a quick as a normal lock, but this sounds like a solid backup.
Here are few pics of the “lock” I have on my camper.
It is work in progress as I am planning to modify it by using a coarse thread screw, and I will embed the corresponding nut in the door sill. This way I will thread steel to steel rather than steel to wood.
This locks the trailer an also serves as a chock. If the tire rim is too small for the pinchers add a short pipe nipple. I also have a lock on the hitch pin.I lost the key and locksmith helped getting the key of the door lock late at night. Highly appreciate their effort.
From seeing this picture it’s clear that this lock needs treatment by a professional locksmith.

These recent posts about a locksmith look like commercial bot spam to me. Two separate individuals linking to the same locksmith web site and one of the accounts is somehow Anonymous and “inactive”. Not sure how to get the attention of a mod or admin to look into this.
OK, I guess that when a spam user account is deleted the posts remain but get assigned to “Anonymous”. The last locksmith post was by JustinWinslow (http://teardropforum.com/forums/users/justinwinslow) but that account no longer exists. Thanks to whomever cleaned it up!
