New to this forum, so Hello to all,

I just purchased a CLC and bingo it has developed a crack on the left hatch hinge base. Has anyone actual replaced the wood hinges with something a bit more robust? I’m thinking of using stainless with a 4″ x 4″ plate (1/2″ hardwood) mounted in cabin to distribute forces on the hinge. I’d appreciate any thoughts.
