Technical Bulletin & Camper Update #1

GALLEY GUTTER MISMATCH IN KITS: We have received one report of a galley gutter in a kit having two right sides, rather than a right and left, with a male and female puzzle joint:

The right and left halves in the photo are incorrect; there are two male puzzle joints.

WE BELIEVE THERE ARE OTHERS IN KITS LIKE IT and we’re tracking down those individuals. Meanwhile, if you’ve got the wrong galley gutter parts, please shoot an email to INFO@CLCBOATS.COM, subject line “Galley Gutter” and we’ll dispatch the correct parts at once.

BOTTOM PANEL TAB THICKNESS: The bottom panels in some kits have tabs of differing thicknesses, and look like this:

This does not seem to affect alignment of the camper shell with the bottom panel.  You just want it even all the way around.  Leave a gap on the shallow side (left side of the photo, above).  This will be filled with thickened epoxy in the ordinary course of assembly, and most or all of this vanishes when the bottom edge is rounded in preparation for fiberglass work.  The issue (a computer glitch) was fixed in kits about a month ago.

As always, shoot a note to INFO@CLCBOATS.COM if you have any questions about construction.  Whenever we have something worthy of mention we’ll send a “Teardrop Camper Update” and post it here.
