Update: I’m on my third season of camping with this gem. I have changed out the springs with ones rated at under 1000 lbs. they seem about right. I had to do some modifications to the mount channel to get them to work properly. My fenders were also starting to crack out. I replaced them with some nice curved ones.

I made a couple foam plugs covered with headliner material.

This may be the solution to spring back on the doors. Brilliant.

Eliminating the trailer frame is a great idea. The only purpose the frame on mine serves is to hold my lights and hide my battery and spare tire. My spring channels and tongue could have easily been bolted straight to the shell.

I found that the 5×8 NT with 1 inch hockey puck spacers has put both the door height and galley height good for me and my wife. I am 5,10 and my wife is 5,4. The door height is at the edge of what is tolerable for her. The door height is critical because you spend quite a bit of time there putting on shoes etc. Galley not as important for me. I find myself cooking on a side table most of the time. We do use it for preparing sandwiches on the road. Most of the campsites I have used have fire rings. Fire trumps galley stove for cooking everytime.

Mine did not have enough thread to make the mods work. I left the baffle in, forward up, and made plugs for travel out of closed cell foam seat cushions.

I used.mine for a year before installing my headliner. Left me able to make changes if needed.

I don’t see why not. I have been accused of having vinyl woodgrain stickers on mine because wood just doesn’t bend like that.

Ok…… thought I was done. The Mrs. started tossing around ideas about putting privacy curtains in the camper. I could not imagine what she wanted that would go with the clean lines, so I made these privacy plugs instead.
