Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
Quick review…I posted this once I had the hatch mounted, but with no testing. I was really nervous that this looked like it was going to leak bad….
After finishing and using (including some rain) it stays dry. It doesn’t look totally right, since the gap is pretty big. But now that I see how it all works, its fine. I would not add the clasps (to mine) since it works and doesn’t leak.
Thanks again for the thoughts …this forum is really valuable for getting a sense of if things are okay, or are going to be an issue.

CudovichParticipantInteresting. I think I had that gap too…I just used a fillet to help fill it (ha).
HOWEVER. Now I have a bigger issue late in the build. My galley hatch has a 1/4 gap from the hatch edge to the shell on the sides. I don’t have it all together yet, but his is going to be a major water issue I assume. No clue how to fix it….the ideas I have seen here (latches) all take away from the look of the trailer or I am not sure they will work.
So….do whatever you can to fix this now, try not to let the body expand outwards from the galley….which I think is where my other problems started.
Good luck!
CudovichParticipantAh interesting. Did your’s leak before you did this?
Do you have a link for those clasps?
Thanks so much for your help!
CudovichParticipantI had the same issue. I did the sills first and then had a massive battle to get the fiddle shelf in place. However I wonder if the sills would be hard to get in the right spot if the shelf was in the way. Either way it is tight.
